The work we do

The work your garden needs

We agree on the work when we see the garden. A restoration or makeover can include:

Fresh mulch and planting around an established tree
  • Pruning and hedge shaping

Bring overgrown shrubs and screening plants back into shape, with the height and extent agreed before work starts.

  • Weeding, feeding and mulch

Clear weeds from the beds, feed the soil and spread fresh mulch to help hold moisture.

  • Planting and garden beds

Keep suitable established plants, replace tired planting and fill the gaps. For a bigger change, plan new beds and lawn together.

  • A tidy finish

Take away the clippings and green waste from the agreed work and leave the garden ready to enjoy.

The right work for your garden

Start with what you want to keep and what needs attention. A one-off restoration can bring the existing garden back into shape; a makeover changes the planting, beds or lawn.

  • What stays in your garden?

Show David the shrubs and plants you want to retain, then identify the beds, hedges or lawn edges that need attention. The condition of the garden matters as much as its area.

  • Make room for the garden reset

Note the gate width, steps and the route for removing clippings. Photos of the whole garden and the access route help David understand the work before quoting.

Planning your budget

What does gardening cost?

The garden’s condition matters as much as its size. These typical prices distinguish a restoration visit from the first substantial work on a neglected garden.

Typical prices
A garden restoration visit$300 to $2,500
A first substantial restoration of a neglected garden$3,000 to $10,000
A small garden makeover (up to 50 m²)$5,000 to $15,000

Typical prices, including GST. We confirm the exact price with a free quote on site.

What affects your quote?

  • The size of the garden and how much work it needs
  • How much pruning, weeding and mulching the garden needs
  • Hedge height and length, and whether a ladder or platform is needed
  • How much green waste there is to take away

  • Another tree service mucked me around all morning with quote appointment changes, so I contacted Festus from Absolute Tree and he quoted over the phone his team turned up and both tree stumps were gone before sunset on the same day at a most reasonable cost. Thanks again.

  • I was a bit apprehensive about hiring a landscaper after hearing a few horror stories, especially picking someone I’d found online—but I’m so glad I went with Absolute Tree and Garden. David was extremely responsive and even shuffled his schedule to squeeze my job in earlier than expected. The team that came out were friendly, efficient, and thorough—exactly what you’d hope for. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Absolute Tree and Garden to anyone.

  • David and the whole crew at Absolute Tree and Garden Services are fantastic. The work is always done very professionally and safely. The crew are very friendly and respectful. I have used them for many years across multiple properties and the service is always the same - consistently good. I like that they will push back if the request is not going to give you the best result which is great. They turn up on time!! Their rates are very reasonable as well. I fully recommend Absolute Tree and Garden Services! Stuart

  • I could not rate David and his team more highly. They did a first rate job in both my backyard and front yard. Both look fantastic and I could not be happier. David is a genuinely nice guy and very easy to relate and talk to. David’s price was very reasonable for all the work he did and I will definitely be using his services again soon. Highly recommended.

Questions about gardening

Can I book a one-off garden clean-up?

Yes. A garden restoration can be a one-off visit to bring an overgrown garden back into shape. Book again when the garden needs attention; there is no set schedule.

Can you keep the established plants I want to retain?

Tell David which plants you want to keep when he visits. We look at what can stay, what needs pruning and where new planting would help before agreeing on the work.

Is green-waste removal included?

We take away the clippings and green waste from the agreed garden work. The amount to remove is one of the things David checks when preparing your quote.

Do you do weekly or fortnightly garden maintenance?

We don’t offer lawn mowing or regular maintenance rounds. You can book us when you need a garden restoration, a clean-up or a makeover.
