The work we do

What tree removal includes

The tree’s condition, access and what sits around it determine the work. David looks at the site with you and agrees on the removal, clean-up and any stump grinding before the job begins.

  • A look at the tree first

Its size, condition and what is around it decide how it comes down, and whether it needs to.

  • Removal in sections

Climbing or working from the ground, the tree is taken down piece by piece and lowered where needed.

  • Chipping and clean-up

Branches are chipped on site, wood is cut and taken away, and the area is raked and swept.

  • Optional stump grinding

Quoted separately, grinding takes the stump below the surface. Tell us what you plan to do with the area afterwards.

Scope the tree removal

The tree’s size is only part of the job. Its position, the access for equipment and the finish you want afterwards all affect the removal and quote.

Free on-site quotes in Dulwich Hill, with David from our Ryde-based family business.

  • The space around the tree

Show us nearby roofs, fences, gardens and access for equipment. Mention overhead wires without approaching them. The way a tree can be taken down safely affects the quote.

  • Removal and the stump

Tell David whether you want the stump ground and what you plan to put in its place. Access for grinding and the final clean-up are agreed separately from taking the tree down.

Council requirements for your tree

Check the requirements for your property and the proposed work before pruning or removal. A quote or arborist report is not permission to start.

More about Absolute

Why choose Absolute?

  • The whole job scoped on site

David considers the tree, access and nearby structures with you. The removal and clean-up are agreed before the job begins.

  • Think beyond taking the tree down

Tell David what you want to do with the space afterwards. Stump grinding is quoted separately so you can decide what finish you need.

  1. Tell us about the tree

Send your suburb and a short description, or call David. Photos taken from a safe distance can help, but you don’t need them to enquire.

  2. Agree on the work and price

David visits to look at the tree and access, discuss permits and provide a free quote. Removal, waste and any stump grinding are agreed before work starts.

  3. Remove the tree and tidy up

Once any required approval is in place, we arrange the work. The tree comes down using the agreed method, branches are chipped and wood and green waste are taken away unless you’ve asked to keep the mulch.

Another tree service mucked me around all morning with quote appointment changes, so I contacted Festus from Absolute Tree and he quoted over the phone his team turned up and both tree stumps were gone before sunset on the same day at a most reasonable cost. Thanks again.

  • I was a bit apprehensive about hiring a landscaper after hearing a few horror stories, especially picking someone I’d found online—but I’m so glad I went with Absolute Tree and Garden. David was extremely responsive and even shuffled his schedule to squeeze my job in earlier than expected. The team that came out were friendly, efficient, and thorough—exactly what you’d hope for. I wouldn’t hesitate to recommend Absolute Tree and Garden to anyone.

  • David and the whole crew at Absolute Tree and Garden Services are fantastic. The work is always done very professionally and safely. The crew are very friendly and respectful. I have used them for many years across multiple properties and the service is always the same - consistently good. I like that they will push back if the request is not going to give you the best result which is great. They turn up on time!! Their rates are very reasonable as well. I fully recommend Absolute Tree and Garden Services! Stuart

Highly recommended.

Questions about tree removal

Could pruning solve the problem instead?

Sometimes. Overhanging branches, deadwood or a crowded canopy may be addressed with pruning. We look at the tree before recommending removal; where a formal assessment is needed, an independent arborist report can help determine the next step.

Explore tree pruning
Do I need council approval?

It depends on your council, the tree and the property. Don’t assume a dead or storm-damaged tree is automatically exempt. Check the current requirements with your council and have any required approval in place before work starts.

Find your council’s tree guidance
Can you work near a house, fence or power lines?

We assess the position, access and nearby structures before quoting. Where there is no room to fell a tree, it may need to come down in sections with pieces lowered on ropes. Power lines need particular care; the approach and any additional arrangements depend on the site.

Is stump grinding included?

It is optional and priced separately in the quote. Grinding takes the stump below the surface; it does not remove the entire root system. Tell David whether you want lawn, a garden bed or new planting in that spot so the work can be planned around it.

Do you take the branches and wood away?

Yes. Branches are chipped and the wood and green waste from the agreed work are taken away. If you would like to keep the mulch, mention it when we quote.

Do you take storm-damaged or fallen-tree jobs?

Yes, including outside our usual Monday to Saturday hours. Call David to describe the situation and check availability. Keep clear of unstable trees and fallen power lines. For a life-threatening emergency call 000; for storm or flood emergency assistance call the NSW SES on 132 500.
